Bahrain's strides in promoting tolerance praised

Manama, Apr. 7 (BNA): Prince Andrew, Duke of York, the UK, paid a visit to the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence where he was welcomed by its Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa. Dr. Shaikh Khalid described the visit as a pioneering step to project the centre worldwide and open up new horizons of relations with well-reputed international institutions and centres. He also affirmed that the visit of Prince Andrew to Bahrain, in general, embodies keenness of the UK to maintain high level of constructive communication and ensure continuity of deep-rooted relations between both countries. Strong historic bilateral relations were reviewed during the visit, asserting their strategic depth. Bahrain’s achievements in bolstering tolerance and peace were also spotlighted. Prince Andrew met with the centre’s Board of Trustees Deputy Chairmen and members and expressed high appreciation of the kingdom’s cultural, social, religious and ethnic diversity which turned it into a model to emulate in promoting the culture of openness, peace, diversity and tolerance on a broader scale. He also praised his historic visit to the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence and Isa Cultural Centre, lauding their civilisational role in fostering moderation.
