Bangkok's subway resumes normal operation
BANGKOK, November 7 (TNA) - Bangkok's Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT) subway service has resumed its normal operation at all stations, after an over two-hour temporary suspension due to a system malfunction.
The Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) announced at 7:50am on Monday that its subway service was temporarily halted from Samyan to Hua Lampong Stations in central Bangkok, causing service delays and leaving throngs of passengers stranded at all stations.
The crowds swelled at subway stations and part of the commuters were, thus, forced to change trains to reach their destinations during the rush hours on the first working day of this week.
The subway service has then resumed its normal operation to serve the public at all its 18 stations in the capital since around 10:15am after its malfunctioned track switching system at Hua Lampong Station was fixed. (TNA)
