Banten People Warned Against Infiltration Of ISIS Ideology

Serang, Banten, Oct 8 (Antara) - The regional religious affair office of Banten warned the people against infiltration of the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS) ideology, which does not reflect Islamic teaching. Islam teaches love for peace and protects all people regardless of faiths,head of the regional religious affair office Agus Salim said here on Wednesday. "We will continue to speak to the people to keep them away from ISIS," Agus Salim said . He said, however, there has been no signs of ISIS operating in Banten. There have been followers of ISIS reported in several areas in the country, but the government found no evidence of any links to Middle East ISIS. "They are more as a naive sympathizers than real followers," an official has been quoted as saying. However, ISIS ideology could lead the country to self destruction, therefore, early preventive measure is necessary, Agus said. He said ISIS ideology of radicalism is against the country`s ideology of Pancasila and the country`s slogan of Unity in Diversity. He asked police to take firm measure against any attempt by ISIS to operate in Banten.
