BDF commander-in-chief attends military parade

Hafr Al-Batin, Mar. 11 (BNA): Commander-in-Chief of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, attended here today the military parade of the "North Thunder" drill, which is the largest military maneuver in the history of the region. The exercise was carried out by military forces from GCC, Arab, Islamic and friendly countries.
The commander-in-chief He said that the participation of BDF task force in the "North Thunder" maneuver and parade was in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander, to promote joint military action among GCC states, strengthen cooperation and coordination with Arab and Islamic countries, develop combat readiness and gain more experience in order to be able to face common challenges and threats.
He lauded the advanced level of the Saudi armed forces regarding the outstanding organisation of the drill and the parade, stressing that the success of the drill conveys a message of unity and strength to those seeking to undermine the security and stability of the participating nations, and to terrorist militias seeking to destroy countries of the region.
The commander-in-chief pointed out that the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF)’s approach is based on joint cooperation and coordination with the armed forces of brotherly and friendly countries in order to achieve complementarity with them and face challenges within the GCC.
He stressed that the critical situation the region is currently going through requires intensifying joint efforts and stepping up cooperation, noting that the kingdom always welcomes participation in such "brotherly and constructive" drills that reflect the depth of relations between the participating countries.
The commander-in-chief returned to the kingdom today, along a number of BDF senior officiers.
