BIDEC emerging as one of biggest defence exhibitions

Manama, Oct 27 (BNA): The 2nd edition of Bahrain International Defence Exhibition and Conference (BIDEC 2019), which opens on Monday, has grown stronger and bigger in terms of participants, visitors and exhibitors. Thomas Gaunt, Managing Director, Clarion Events, the official organisers of BIDEC, said during a pre-conference briefing on Sunday that this year the entire space for exhibitors have been sold out. “There is an increase in participation of BIDEC in all areas. The show is 11 per cent bigger than 2017; there are 63 visiting delegations and 170 exhibitors from 33 countries. The gross space of the show is 13,200 square metres. There are 154 media representatives who have registered and compared with the 2017 event, there is a 32 per cent increase in media participation.” he said. “We have country pavilions from UK, France, USA, UAE, Pakistan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, India and Korea. The show is bigger this year and the entire space was sold out and we are expecting the number of visitors to increase to 11,000 from 9,000 in 2017. “We are striving on our vision of BIDEC as leader in the region and world. We are focusing on a high-quality exhibition and conference.”
