Big lot of meth pills seized in Thai South

BANGKOK, April 24 (TNA) - Six drug suspects have been arrested and 496,000 meth pills in their possession have been seized in Chumphon Province in the Thai South. Police told a press conference on Monday that the six suspected drug traders were arrested while they were on their way to deliver the drugs to customers. The police said three cars and guns were also seized from the suspects. According to the police, they followed a car which was averting a checkpoint set up in Chunphon’s Pathiew District, but the suspicious car got stuck in the mud in a rubber plantation and two men in the car fled away, while the police then found the huge lot of narcotics in the car. The police revealed that the two suspects were later found riding in a pick-up truck on a nearby road with another man, and that they later arrested two more men at a gas station after questioning the earlier three suspects. All of the suspects confessed to have carried meth pills from Chiang Rai Province in the Thai North to be delivered to customers in the South. Meanwhile, Peera Kanchanapong, a specialist at the Narcotics Control Office, Region 8, noted that the drugs, under a new brand seize for the first time, had a street value of more than 250 million baht. The police have expanded their investigation after arresting the two more suspects (TNA)
