BKPM To Work Towards Enhancing Realization Ratio Of Chinese Investment
Jakarta, March 21 (Antara) - The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) will work towards enhancing the realization ratio for Chinese investment in the midst of high investment, which comes from the country, the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Head Franky Sibarani stated.
"The Chinese investment realization ratio was low at only 7 percent during the 2005 to 2014 period. In fact, its licensing investment is quite high," Sibarani said on Saturday.
"The current trend is that among 10 Chinese investors, only one will realize their investment," he remarked.
Sibarani stated that BKPM should improve the realization of Chinese investment up to 40 percent in the future. Meanwhile, the realization for Singapore¿s investment has reached 40 percent and for Japan it is about 62 percent.
"We will support Chinese' investors during the process of investment,' he said.
He added that the President's visit to China would also boost investment from the country.
Referring to the experience of the President's visit at the APEC forum in November 2014, Franky said ¿Following the Summit, there was a surge in Chinese investment, amounting to US$6.7 billion during January and February this year.¿
"It is likely to happen again after Jokowi's visit. High investment should help the domestic economy. The President has opened the doors for investors and it is our duty to execute it," he noted.
Sibarani also plans to accompany President Joko Widodo on a working visit to Japan and China from March 23 to March 28. The President is scheduled to attend the Annual Meeting of the Boao Forum in Hainan Province.
