Blackout causes flight delay at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport

BANGKOK, October 14 (TNA) - Fifteen domestic low-cost flights set for take-off at Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport were delayed Sunday morning following a power blackout. According to the airport director, Paranee Watthanothai, the interruption began at 4.50 a.m. and lasted half-an-hour due to thundershowers, forcing 15 budget airlines to delay their departures. It is understood that the airport’s emergency power supply system would function within eight seconds of a power failure. Authorities said they were looking into the case to prevent similar disruptions in future. (TNA)
