BMA asks for organising suitable Loy Kratong Festival 2016

BANGKOK, November 2 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has asked for cooperation from organisers to take appropriateness and courtesy norms into consideration when holding this year's Loy Kratong Festival in the capital on November 14, as the whole nation remains in the mourning period for late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyedej, who passed away on October 13. BMA spokeswoman Tridao Apaiwong publicly sought the cooperation on Wednesday, suggesting that loud activities be refrained from all Loy Krathong events and people joining in the events dress politely. The spokeswoman told journalists that the public campaign for this year's Loy Krathong events remains focusing on the use of recyclable materials to make kratong rafts to be floated on local waterways in order to reduce tough degradable garbage. The spokeswoman also encouraged the public to spend their time on the upcoming special occasion with their families to cherish their valuable bonds. (TNA)
