BNA director-general visits KUNA

Kuwait, July 15 (BNA): Director-General of the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), Ahmed Mohammed Abdulkareem Al-Mannai, has lauded the Bahraini-Kuwaiti cooperation, particularly in the media field. This is fruitful outcome of the deep-rooted close relations, and the steadily growing bilateral cooperation in all fields and at all levels, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and HH Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait, Al-Mannai said. BNA director-general made the statements while visiting the headquarters of the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), where he met Shaikh Mubarak Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah, KUNA’s Board of Directors’ Chairman and Director-General and the Chairman of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA). BNA chief expressed admiration for the work progress and mechanisms across KUNA’s sectors and departments, praising its expertise and experiences that have contributed to its distinguised media production. He said that he was looking forward to enhancing BNA-KUNA cooperation and coordination in the fields of information technology, training, developing media competencies and exchange of news, information, research, reports and photos, voicing pride in the growing solid partnership between the two brotherly countries in the media field. BNA director-general expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to KUNA board chairman for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to him, as well as the good organisation of the visit and the fraternal noble feelings that prevailed during their tallks. Shaikh Mubarak Duaij welcomed the BNA director-general’s brotherly visit, affirming the two countries’ keenness to enhance media cooperation and exchange of expertise to achieve their common interests and strengthen joint Arab media action. During their talks, they reviewed ways to enhance media and technical cooperation between the two news agencies, especially regarding the exchange of news and information, as well as the preparation of national media and technical competencies. They also discussed opportunities to take advantage of modern technology in broadcasting news, in addition to mechanisms of joint coordination between the two sides.
