BNA participates in media forum in China

Beijing, Apr. 21 (BNA): Bahrain News Agency (BNA)'s Acting Director-General, Mohannad Sulaiman Al Nuaimi, stressed the importance of news agencies in the fight the against terrorism.
There are various means and methods which convey news to the public, however, news agencies remain essentially the most credible and undisputed media. They provide other mass media, including newspapers, radio and television stations, with instant-by-instant latest global developments around the clock. Therefore, the readers, listeners and viewers who follow up newspapers, radio and TV do benefit from news agencies, according to Al Nuaimi.
In the course of his participation at the invitation of the Chinese government in the Chinese ruling party's media forum along with his Arab counterparts with a work-paper on the role of official and international news agencies in supporting the fight against terrorism presence of politicians, media people, academicians, researchers, economists and VIPs from several Arab countries .
He said the Kingdom of Bahrain has taken big strides in fighting terrorism and undertakes an effective role alongside with its partners in the region and the world. He added Bahrain foiled many terrorist attempts and arrested many terrorist who committed violent attacks in Bahrain and who received weaponry, training and funds from Iran and other countries.
Bahrain has an outstanding role in the international coalitions to eradicate terror groups in the world, including the so-called "Daesh" terror group, according to BNA's acting director-general.
Al Nuaimi said the media in Bahrain undertake a remarkable role in exposing the facts about terrorist groups and muster international support against the phenomena of extremism and terrorism which have no specific nationality, culture, country or region and threaten the security of the whole world. He added the international community should be in solidarity to confront and defeat terrorists and extremists of all forms and manifestations everywhere, especially those who incite, finance, back terrorism and extremism from outside the region and those who harbor terrorists and extremists on pretext of human rights. He said hence a news agency can influence people's ways of thinking according to its depiction of things or views on current issues whence a news agency derives its name as "news agency" from the nature of its job as an "agent" or representative for newspapers and the mass media.
