Boosting trade sector, providing job opportunities highlighted

Manama, May 13 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain aims to become a main hub for regional and international investments, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Zayed Rashid Al-Zayani said. He added that the Ministry is currently focusing on further developing the national economy by streamlining foreign investments procedures and creating job opportunities for citizens. "Bahrain has always been an open economy for foreign investment. Our challenges are centered on the existing set of laws and legislations, both on a national and international front. However, the way forward is for all parties to collectively support the development of Bahrain’s national economy by etching a solution that will further cement Bahrain's position as an ideal investment destination", the minister said. The minister was speaking during the ‘At the Majlis’ session hosted by the Capital Club at Bahrain Financial Harbor. The event was attended by a number of decision makers from the economic and financial sector. He also discussed the national strategy developed to further boost the tourism and commerce sector in line with the royal reforms. "The growth of the tourism industry in Bahrain is driven by two main pillars; investing in tourism projects and keeping abreast with regional and international trends. On the other hand, Bahrain has two key elements; the rich history that dates back to 5,000 years and the renowned hospitality and warmth of its people, which play a vital role in driving the national tourism strategy forward. The government will focus its efforts on developing a holistic approach and building the infrastructure required in order to attract and support local and international investors," he added. The ‘At The Majlis’ event will be held on a monthly basis and will feature a number of key executives from both government and private sectors. The next session will feature Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa. The event will be held in June.
