Cabinet congratulates pilgrims on safe return, hails Haj success

Manama, Aug. 27 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired the regular weekly Cabinet session at the Gudaibiya Palace today. Premier congratulates pilgrims on safe return HRH Premier extended congratulations to Bahraini pilgrims on their safe return home after performing Haj rituals successfully and safely, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless them with heavenly rewards. Haj success hailed HRH the Prime Minister lauded the outstanding success of this year’s Haj season thanks to the tremendous efforts exerted by sisterly Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. HRH Premier praised the distinguished services and facilities provided by the Saudi government for pilgrims, which ensured easy rituals for them and resulted in a highly successful Haj season by all standards, which earned Saudi Arabia global admiration, appreciation and acclaim, a post-session statement by the Cabinet Secretary-General, Dr. Yasser bin Isa Al-Nasser, said. Orders to develop infrastructure in Jannusan HRH Premier, within the framework of his unwavering keenness on developing infrastrucuture acoss the kingdom’s regions, towns and villages, gave directives to the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning to continue improving services and rehabilitating infrastructure in Jannusan, including car parks, roads and public gardens. Draft resolution on electronic records, signatures approved The session approved a draft resolution on regulating the technical requirements for sending, receiving and updating electronic records and signatures for official entities, in light of the recommendation of the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs, which was outlined in the memorandum presented by the Deputy Premier and the Committee chairman. The draft resolution aims to simplify and secure transactions among government entities through updating legal regulations to cover many services, including the national project for electronic notifications, sending judicial notices through emails, the exchange of electronic databases among government departments, among many others. The ultimate goal is to fast-track the decision-making process, rationalise the communication costs and enhance the efficiency of administrative work. Bahrain-Oman MoUs, executive programmes endorsed The session endorsed a number of momoranda of understanding (MoUs) and executive programmes to be signed between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman during the meetings of their joint committee. Cabinet informed about pending laws Following the issuance of Royal Order 30/2018 on ending the the fourth session of the fourth legislative term of the Shura and Representatives Councils, the session was informed about the government draft-laws that have not been examined by the National Assembly. A memorandum, submitted in this regard by the Parliament Affairs Minister, was referred to the Ministerial Committee for Legal Affairs. Premier’s directives on medicines implemented In line with HRH Premier’s directives on the need to verify the quality and safety requirements while purchasing medicines, in accordance with the regulations in force, and the World Health Organisation (WHO)’s standards, and to strengthen control on their use, the session was informed, through a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Health, about the measures taken so far to implement the Prime Minister’s instructions. Bills referred to Representatives Council The session reviewed a draft-law, prepared based on proposals by the Council of Representatives, on amending Article 1 of Decree-Law 4/2001 with Respect to the Prevention and Prohibition of the Laundering of Money, and another on adding a new article (23 bis) to Decree-Law 3/2002 regarding the election of municipal councils' members. The bills was referred to the Council of Representatives, along with a memorandum on the government’s opinion on them.
