Cabinet minister meets UNAOC His Representative

New York, Sept. 18(BNA): Cabinet Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutwa met United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) High Representative Miguel Ángel Moratinos and conveyed to him, greetings from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa for supporting HRH the Premier’s in initiative endorsed by the United Nations, proclaiming the 5th of April as the International Day of Conscience. The meeting, which was held in New York, the USA, was attended by Shaikh Hosam bin Isa Al-Khalifa, president of the award of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa for Sustainable Development, as well as Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed Al-Maraj and Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Jamal Al-Ruwae. Cabinet Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutwa reiterated Bahrain’s keenness on supporting all concerted international efforts aimed at consolidating the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence between all peoples in the world. He valued the pivotal role exerted by United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, hailing its initiatives towards serving the Sustainable Developments Goals (SDGs). He outlined Bahrain’s initiatives, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa towards consolidating global peace and supporting international efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals. He underlined the initiative of HM the King, setting up the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence and inaugurating the King Hamad Chair in Interfaith Dialogue at Sapienza University of Rome. He also cited the initiatives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to bolster concerted efforts to achieve sustainable development goals through HRH the Premier’s Sustainable Development Award. He highlighted HRH the Premier’s initiative endorsed by the United Nations, proclaiming the 5th of April as the International Day of Conscience, shedding light on the second edition of the forum "Bahrain’s Share Visions for Successful Future", which will be held on September 26, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session (UNGA), under the theme "Required Values to achieve Sustainable Development Goals". . On behalf of HRH the Premier, Cabinet Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Mutwa extended an invitation to UN Alliance of Civilizations High Representative Miguel Ángel Moratinos to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain and get an idea about its landmark development achievements as well peaceful coexistence and tolerance. UN Alliance of Civilizations High Representative Miguel Ángel Moratinos hailed the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain to build bridges and promote communication between civilizations and peoples.
