Capital Governor inaugurates fine art exhibition

Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): Capital Governor Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa inaugurated at Bahrain Financial Harbour today "Intersections" fine arts exhibition which brought together artists from Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE. The exhibition, which will continue until March 12, showcases works from different artistic schools. The Capital Governor lauded the exhibition which featured 32 artists, stressing that such functions promote the kingdom's cultural and artistic status. He described the exhibition as an opportunity for cultural exchange with the GCC countries. Touring the exhibition, he lauded the good organisation of the event and exchanged talks with the participants on their artistic experiences. Fine artist Farida Darweesh, the exhibition organisation's general supervisor, said the idea of the exhibition came from the importance of showcasing joint works with artists from the GCC countries for interaction between fine artists is enriching for the Gulf art movement. She thanked the Capital Governor for patronising the exhibition and for his unflinching keenness to support cultural and artistic functions.
