Capital Governorate, Shenzhen City sign MoU

Manama, Sep. 4 (BNA): Capital Governorate and Chinese Shenzhen City have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening partnerships and broadening cooperation in various fields, including economic, educational, health and cultural. The Shenzhen's delegation is on a visit to the country at the invitation of Bahrain Economic Development Board. It is led by Shenzhen Mayor Xu Qin and include senior officials of government, private sectors and representatives of Bahrain-based Chinese companies. It will learn about investment opportunities in Bahrain and will discuss future cooperation and partnerships. Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, in his speech at the signing ceremony, welcomed the Chinese delegation visit that targets building bridges of economic, investment and cultural partnerships, which will also boost Bahraini-Chinese relations. He pointed out the exchange of official visits between the leaders of the two countries, which reflect their resolve to open new horizons of cooperation and coordination at various levels. He said the agreement will lead to holding joint projects between the two cities, consequently to boost a long term partnership. He paid tribute to the civilizational and economic achievements witnessed by Shenzhen to become a key economic hub in China.
