CBB participates in Consumer Protection Awareness Expo

Manama, Feb. 28 (BNA): As part of its ongoing efforts towards consumer protection in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) announces its participation in the Consumer Protection Awareness Expo for eCommerce and eFraud Crimes, taking place at City Centre Galleria on March 1 – 3 under the patronage of His Excellency Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism. The Expo is being organised by the Consumer Protection Directorate within the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior and the Central Bank of Bahrain. The aim of the exhibition is to spread awareness about consumer protection in e-transactions, and educate the general public on related topics. On this occasion, Mr. Khalid Hamad, Executive Director of Banking Supervision at CBB, commented "The CBB is pleased to support the Ministry’s initiatives and efforts in raising awareness and educating consumers on sound practices. Together we seek to ensure that consumers take reasonable measures to protect their personal information and financial data, and exercise due care and caution in their electronic financial dealings."
