Chinese cultural centre to be set up in Bahrain

Manama, Aug. 2 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and China’s Ministry of Culture signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a Chinese cultural centre in Bahrain which is the first of its kind in the region.
The memo was concluded as BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received in her office today Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Qi Zhenhong.
Shaikha Mai lauded constant cultural cooperation with China, stressing that the memo will open a new window on Asia. She added that the centre will further consolidate relations between both countries and boost the Chinese cultural presence in Bahrain.
On his part, the Chinese ambassador thanked Shaikha Mai for her efforts to promote cultural cooperation between both countries, stressing that choosing Bahrain to be home to the centre stems from a strong belief in the kingdom’s capabilities to foster civilisational meeting between countries of the Middle East and the Far East.
