Construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is under talks, Jeenbekov says

Bishkek, Dec.25, 2019. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has achieved good results in transport and communications, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov said at the final press conference at the Ala-Archa state residence in Bishkek. He said construction of China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is under intensive negotiations. “Most importantly, heads of state made a political decision. The construction of an alternative North-South railway has been completed by 70%. Particular attention is paid to repairing internal roads. In 2019, asphalt was laid on at least 3 km of roads in each region, which as a whole made 141 km," the President said. He also added in two years, 828 km of asphalt was laid across the country. “The work on modernization and expansion of air terminal complex of Manas International Airport has been carried out. Work is underway to improve the condition of airports in the regions," Jeenbekov added. The Kyrgyz President’s press conference is taking place at the Ala-Archa state residence in Bishkek. A total of 188 journalists have been accredited for the event. Of these, 160 journalists are from 77 national media and 28 journalists - from 15 foreign media, accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. Note that this is the second press conference of Sooronbay Jeenbekov as the President.
