Construction of royal crematorium replicas finished in several provinces
CHIANG MAI, Oct 9 (TNA) - Construction of royal crematorium replicas has been finished in several provinces in preparation for the royal cremation ceremony of His Majesty late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
Apart from the main royal cremation at Sanam Luang in Bangkok, 85 royal crematorium replicas have been built across the country for the public members to lay cremation flowers for the late King on Oct 26.
In the northeastern province of Chiang Rai, the construction of royal crematorium at an old airport has been completed. Now, landscaping work is in the progress and tents will be erected for the cremation ceremony, in which about 100,000 attendees are expected.
In Samut Songkram, the royal cremation replica has been built in Wat Phetsamut Worawiharn.
It is decorated with 20,000 marigold plants as well as replicas of items, commonly used by King Bhumibol to work for the people.
In Chiang Mai, more than 2,000 teachers and students of Maejo University planted 85,000 marigolds in the university premises.Other plants, producing yellow flowers such as sunn hemp and sunflowers have been also grown to create yellow fields in tribute to the beloved King during the royal cremation late this month.
