Construction of royal crematory for late Thai King set to start by year end
BANGKOK, December 20 (TNA) - The construction of the royal crematory of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej has been set to start by the end of this year.
Thai Deputy Prime Minister General Tanasak Patimapragorn told journalists on December 19 that a part of Sanam Luang ceremonial ground, near Bangkok's Grand Palace, will be sealed off from December 26 for the construction of the royal crematory.
General Tanasak said that the construction will first start with setting its benchmarks next Monday and the construction work is expected to be completed by September 2017 as targeted.
According to the Thai deputy premier, the remaining part of Sanam Luang can be used for other planned activities, including the upcoming mass countdown prayers on December 31. (TNA)
