Convict summoned over tendentious letter

Manama, Sep. 16 (BNA): Chief Prosecutor of the Southern Governorate Mehanna Al Shaiji said the Public Prosecution had received a notification from the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation that a convict had delivered a letter, through someone, to a foreign party that included false news and tendentious rumours on the situation in Bahrain likely to tarnish the kingdom’s reputation and undermine its image. The Public Prosecution summoned the convict from his jail and listened to his testimony in the presence of his lawyer concerning the content of the letter attributed to him. The investigation into the case is continuing.
