COVID-19: 3,981 New Cases, 114 Deaths In Indonesia

JAKARTA, Sept 18 (Bernama) -- Indonesia reported 3,891 more positive COVID-19 cases overnight, taking the tally in the republic to 236,519 cases. Based on data published today in the Indonesian government website on COVID-19, www.covid19.go.id, another 104,866 patients were still being monitored for the virus. Between noon yesterday and noon Friday, 114 more fatalities were reported, with the toll now at 9,336 deaths. Jakarta Province, which saw large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) reimposed for two weeks beginning Monday, continues to record the highest number of positive cases with 59,840 after 1,258 new cases were reported. East Java remains the province with the highest number of fatalities, recording 2,922 deaths, followed by Jakarta (1,517), Central Java (1,203), South Kalimantan (394), North Sumatera (389) and South Sulawesi (387) while the rest occurred in the other provinces. -- BERNAMA
