Creativity in Charity Work Award winners honoured

Manama, Oct. 24 (BNA): Labour and Social Development Minister Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan stressed the importance of benefiting from technological development in various telecommunication means to improve services in charity and voluntary work. He said fast-paced technological development in advanced countries has re-shaped the map of voluntary work and brought a quantum leap in this respect. The minister made the remarks in a ceremony to honour winners of Creativity in Charity Work Award organized by a number of institutions concerned with charity work in the GCC countries as part of the Technological Creativity in Charity Work Conference 2016, held under his patronage on October 23 and 24 with the participation of many societies from Bahrain, the GCC and Arab countries as well as international experts. The minister praised the pioneering initiatives and experiences of the GCC and Arab countries in backing social and charity work. He also pointed out keenness of the Labour and Social Development Ministry in Bahrain to provide all kinds of support to ensure success of any national initiative aimed at boosting development work and promoting partnership between the public and private sectors. The minister presented the winners with their prizes.
