Crocodile spotted off Phuket beaches

PHUKET, July 19 (TNA) – Phuket officials are searching for a two-metre-long crocodile, spotted off the coast at Yanui and Nai Harn beaches. No swimming signs have been placed to warn tourists. The crocodile sighting was reported yesterday by a villager as he saw the reptile in the water near Yanui beach. He took some pictures of the animals and alerted the police. Phuket governor Norapat Plodthong ordered officials to search for the crocodile and it was found swimming off the coast at the two beaches. An assistant village head could record a video clip of the swimming crocodile on the water surface. It is about 2-3 metres long but more details are still unknown. Officials are keeping a close watch on it and planning to take further action with agencies concerned. (TNA)
