Crown Prince attends Horse Racing Festival

Manama, Feb. 2 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, this afternoon recognised the role played by the Rashed Horse Racing Club in preserving horse racing’s authentic Bahraini and Arab heritage with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. HRH the Crown prince this afternoon attended the Cup of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince at Rashid Equestrian and Horse racing club. Upon his arrival, HRH the Crown Prince was received by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. His Royal Highness Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, HIs Highness Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah bin Isa Al Khalifa attended the race. HRH the Crown Prince's Cup has also witnessed a number of high-ranking dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom and a large audience of horseracing enthusiasts. HRH the Crown Prince praised the Supreme Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, for their hard work in preparing and organising the horse racing season. HRH the Crown Prince noted the enthusiasm of the distinguished crowd in attendance, pointing out that their excitement was testament to the high quality and competitiveness of the racing. HRH the Crown Prince went on to praise the youth of Bahrain for their enthusiastic preservation of equestrian expertise, noting that their hard work does much to preserve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s international reputation in the sport. At the end of the race, HRH the Crown Prince congratulated the winners and presented the Cup of the Supreme Committee of the Club to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Oaks Al Bahrain Cup to Fawzi Abdulla Nass, the Crown Prince's Cup for Arabian Horses to Abdulla Kuwaiti, the Crown Prince's Cup for local produce to His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohamed Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince's Cup for imported horses to His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
