Crown Prince meets delegation of US Congressmen

Manama, Mar 31 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met a delegation of members of the United States Congress, at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). During the meeting, the Crown Prince and Congressmen covered a range of issues relating to regional developments and shared interests between the US and Bahrain. Speaking about the long-standing strategic relations between the US and Bahrain, the Crown Prince highlighted that both countries’ on-going commitment to bolstering coordination and cooperation underpins all efforts aimed at preserving regional security and increasing prosperity, stability and opportunity for both nations. The Crown Prince and Congressmen discussed the rise of violent extremism and its undermining effect on regional development efforts. In this regard, the Crown Prince emphasised the importance of aligning regional and international efforts to combat all forms of terrorism and eliminate radical ideologies. The meeting also covered ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in order to achieve shared goals, including providing strategic support to all efforts in pursuit of lasting stability and security in the region.
