Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet's Virtual Session

NEOM, Sep 1, 2020, SPA -- The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired here today the Cabinet's virtual session. At the outset, the Cabinet reviewed latest developments related to Coronavirus pandemic, at the local as well as the international arenas, especially in terms of preventive and remedial aspects, comprehensive health attention and medical care accorded to active cases, contributions of precautionary and preventive measures, providing services and easy access to them, obtaining them and the health system provided to treatment services, in order to limit the spread of the virus, to fix and lessen the toll of confirmed and critical cases. The Cabinet followed up procedures of all public sector employees return to their workplaces, in accordance with the health indicators and data, in the cities and governorates of the Kingdom, stressing the importance of abiding by the precautionary measures and preventive procedures and committing to the instructions issued by the competent authorities and implementing all applicable protocols to prevent the spread of the virus. Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qassabi, in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), pointed out that the Cabinet voiced congratulations to the students and teachers, males and females, on the advent of the new academic year, in addition to the education and training staffs, in various stages, and to continue with educational process, provided via e-platforms, due to the exceptional Coronavirus circumstances, that requiring exigence of abiding by the precautionary measures, reaffirming the significance of families shouldering their roles and responsibilities, in this respect, to guarantee the continuance of the educational process and utilizing technology to realize the best of possible outcomes. The Cabinet pointed to the discovery, by Saudi Aramco, of two new oil and gas fields in each of Al-Jouf and Northern Borders provinces, thanking Allah the Almighty for His visible and invisible graces bestowed on this country. The Cabinet paid tribute to the efforts being exerted by the Ministry of Energy and Saudi Aramco in the fields of exploration and production in a way that bolsters the economic diversity of the Kingdom. The Minister said the Cabinet reviewed a number of issues pertaining to the developments of the recent regional and international incidents, reiterating the Kingdom's denunciation of the Iran-backed continuing terrorist Houthi attacks, violating the humanitarian international law and martial rules through deliberate and systematic launching of booby-trapped drones and ballistic missiles towards civil properties and civilians in the Kingdom. The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's welcome of the signing, in initials, of peace arrangement protocols between the Sudanese Government and the Revolutionary Front, valuing the development as an important step on the way to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people and their legitimate hopes in peace, development and prosperity and enhancing Sudan's sovereignty, national unity and regional integrity. --SPA
