Customs Affairs participates in GCC meeting

Manama, Sep. 6 (BNA): Customs Affairs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Ahmed Al Khalifa participated in the 16th GCC Customs Union Commission meeting held on September 4- 5 in Riyadh. The meeting discussed a number of issues on its agenda, including the General Secretariat’s report on the direct electronic transformation of customs fees and the GCC countries' commitments to the World Trade Organization on electronic cigarettes and shisha. Bahrain's delegation submitted several proposals, chiefly a study on the technical criteria related to the application of the mechanism for the direct electronic transformation of customs fees among GCC countries.
