Dar Al Ber runs 29 charity projects at a cost of Dh2.7m in Benin and Togo

DUBAI, 1st September 2015 (WAM) -- Dar Al Ber Society, DABS, has inaugurated 29 charity projects at a cost of Dh 2,732,000, in Benin and Togo as part of an eight-day official visit to the two African countries.
The DABS delegation comprised Abdul Kareem Jaafar, Manager of Projects Department at DABS, and Ali Abdullah Al Shehi, Manager of DABS in Ras al-Khaimah.
New projects have been agreed upon as well the development of the services being rendered by the society to the peoples of the two African countries, according to a top official.
Khalfan Khalifa Al Mazrouie, Chairman, DABS, said the society is all set to give a hand to disadvantaged peoples in collaboration with accredited charity and civil society organisations as instructed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
"Dar Al Ber is in incessant coordination with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai on running new projects in deprived areas of Benin, Togo and other countries to benefit the people there," he said.
Abdul Kareem Jaafar said the DABS delegation paid a visit to 18 mosques recently built or maintained at a cost of Dh 2,235,750. "Up to 11 water wells have also been dug for Dh297,550 and Dh200,000 has been contributed as emergency relief to 194 families hit by floods there."
Dar Al Ber has also provided those families with over Dh 2,732,000 to maintain their affected houses, he said, adding "This is apart from running other seasonal charity projects, such as mass Iftar, and assisting them with money alms, Zakat Al Fitr, as well as Eid clothes and Adahi or sacrificed animals."
Ali Abdullah Al Shehi said that up to 29 projects have been carried out in the two countries, including the construction and maintenance of many mosques, the digging of several water wells, and building and maintaining old and dilapidated houses. – Emirates News Agency, WAM - http://www.wam.ae/en/news/emirates/1395284849277.html
