Dar Al-Muharraq inaugurated

Manama, Apr.23 (BNA): Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) opened this evening the iconic Dar Al Muharraq.
The facility comprises the transformation of the existing Dar Jinaa in the old city of Muharraq as well as an extension on a neighbouring plot, which will accommodate workshops and training areas.
The Dar Al Muharraq will act as a training and research centre for traditional folk music and will enhance the intangible heritage of Muharraq.
Situated along the Pearling, testimony of an Island Economy pathway, the extension is a three- storey building enveloped with a steel mesh, designed by Office Kersten Geers David Van Severen in collaboration with Emaar.
BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa took pride in the opening of Dar Al-Muharraq, hailing the crucial importance of the milestone who bears witness to deep-rooted heritage of the city.
She extended thanks to Alba and its officials for their drive to continuously invest in culture and contribute to the project which serves Bahrain’s intangible heritage.
