Delegation of Kyrgyzstan takes part in meeting of defense ministers of SCO countries in Tashkent

Bishkek, Aug. 24, 2022. / Kabar /. The delegation of Kyrgyzstan, headed by Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Lieutenant General Baktybek Bekbolotov, is taking part in the Meeting of Defense Ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which is taking place today in Tashkent as part of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the organization, the press service of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Uzbekistan reported. The meeting is also attended by the heads of military departments of member states and observer states, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat. The participants will discuss a number of issues in the military sphere. The sides will also exchange views on the challenges and threats to regional and international security facing the SCO member states and measures to neutralize them. Before the meeting, the heads of the military departments of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Belarus, as an observer country to the SCO, laid flowers at the Ode to Fortitude monument in Tashkent's Victory Park. The previous Meeting of Defense Ministers of the SCO member states was held on July 28, 2021 in the city of Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
