Deputy King meets Standard Chartered delegation and highlights role of the financial services sector in Bahrain’s sustainable development

Manama, May 17 (BNA): Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today met Standard Chartered’s regional Executive Management team at Gudaibiya palace. During the meeting, His Royal Highness highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting the financial services sector’s growth, as it continues to play an important role in Bahrain’s sustainable development. The Deputy King also welcomed the role of financial and banking institutions in helping to establish the Kingdom as one of the most prominent banking and financial locations within the region. In this regard, His Royal Highness noted the success and development of Bahrain’s advanced regulatory environment, which supports performance and overall competitiveness within the sector. The Deputy King went on to praise Standard Chartered’s longstanding role in supporting increased banking activity within the Kingdom, since its establishment in Bahrain in 1920. The Standard Chartered delegation expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness, and welcomed His Royal Highness’ continued support to the development of the Kingdom’s banking and financial services sector. The Deputy King’s son, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, His Excellency Rasheed Al Maaraj, also attended the meeting.
