Deputy Premier meets IPI president

Manama, Feb. 25 (BNA): Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa received International Peace Institute (IPI) President Terje Rod Larsen, currently on visit to Bahrain. He congratulated the IPI chief on the outcome of the National Action Charter (NAC) conference and exhibition, which was held by the Parliament in cooperation with the think tank. He commended the IPI-led role in promoting the culture of peace and co-existence between peoples, paying tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his royal directives in this same regard. The two sides discussed key issues related to the issue of peace and the role of the think tank. Larsen thanked the Deputy Premier on the warm welcome, hailing Bahrain’s efforts to promote peace between countries and peoples. The meeting was attended by IPI regional director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Nejib Friji.
