Manama, June 29 (BNA): A conference shedding light on the Al-Khalifa rule and their sovereignty on the Qatari Peninsula will be held tomorrow, Saturday. The Bahrain Institute for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (DERASAT) will organize the key conference – in the presence of prominent academic figures and researchers specialized in thought, history and culture. Themed “Al-Khalifa Rule in the Qatari Peninsula ...History and Sovereignty”, the conference will focus on three main topics: Topic 1: Al-Zubarah, Capital of Al-Khalifa in the Qatari Peninsula and the Islands of Bahrain. Topic 2: Rebellion on the Al-Khalifa Legitimacy in the Qatari Peninsula. Topic 3: The Qatari Invasion of the Dibal in 1986. “The conference will focus on an important historical phase of the Arabian Gulf region, that’s The Al-Khalifa rule and their sovereignty on the Qatari Peninsula since the establishment of the Al-Khalifa State in the Al-Zubarah in 1762”, said DERASAT board of trustees’ chairman Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa. He stressed the importance of holding the conference at this date, as part of DERASAT-held events to reveal truths and highlight the achievements of the Al-Khalifa Rule on the Qatari Peninsula and the Islands of Bahrain. The conference is shedding light on historical facets which are linked directly to the present events and future trends”, said Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa. The think tank has invited prominent thinkers and historians to present their testimonies outline their visions in deep insight, based on credible sources, citing facts which marked the era of the Al-Khalifa Rule on the Qatari Peninsula. “The Al-Khalifa State, with Al-Zubarah as its capital, fulfilled crucial internal and international duties and made history whose echoes still reverberate now and will always be present”, said Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa. The conference will highlight key issues, shedding light particularly on the family tree (genealogy) of the Al-Khalifa dynasty, their movement from the Arabian Peninsula to the Qatari Peninsula, the establishment of the Al-Khalifa State which won the allegiance of the tribes in the region. The conference will also highlight the success of the Al-Khalifa rule in achieving trade, scientific and humanitarian prosperity, which turned the Al-Zubarah into a thriving hub and a beacon of culture and progress. It will also lay bare the designs and seditions fomented by the Al-Thani and their role in plunging the Arabian Gulf region into a political crisis, by inciting tribes on rebellion and renegading allegiance. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa said that the conference will highlight the treacherous aggression perpetrated by the Al-Thani in 1937 on the Al-Naim tribe, which was then living in the Al-Zubarah and has long been known for its allegiance to the Al-Khalifa, thus leading to the occupation of – which led to the occupation of the Al-Zubarah and the forced displacement of its inhabitants. The conference will spotlight the Qatari aggression in 1986 on the Dibal, which represented a flagrant assault of Bahrain’s sovereignty and national territories, a blatant violation of international and humanitarian covenants. The conference will highlight the continued acts of hostility perpetrated by the Qatari regime against the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as blatant interference in its internal affairs, by supporting terrorist groups, selective naturalization and instigative media. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa said that any legitimate measures against the current regime in the Qatari peninsula, due to its irresponsible acts, will not affect deep-rooted fraternal ties with our brethren in the Qatari Peninsula, being one people. The think tank, Derasat, has already organized a forum themed “Qatar, Patron of Anarchy and Crises in the Middle East” and launched a book titled “Qatari Invasion of Dibal -1986”.
