Manama, Apr. 23 (BNA): Public Security Chief Major General Taraq Hassan Al Hassan stressed the need to continue building capabilities and developing police work within the framework of enforcing the law and respecting human rights.
He was speaking at a meeting with graduates of the 11th batch of military cadets which convened at the Public Security Officers Club, in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for Human Resources and the Commander of the Royal Academy of Police (RAP).
Major General Taraq Al Hassan congratulated them on their graduation, stressing the need to enforce the law while respecting human rights within the framework of preserving the inherent Bahraini morals and values as well as Islamic precepts and teachings. He highlighted the main principles of the Interior Ministry as well as its plans mapped out by Interior Minister Lt. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa within the framework of the ministry’s development and modernisation strategy. He also pointed out main challenges being dealt with utter accuracy and competence, stressing the pivotal role of Bahrain in boosting joint counter-terrorism work and drying up its sources locally, regionally and internationally.
The Public Security Chief said the strategic vision of the regional situation shows that there are more threats and challenges lying ahead amid fast-paced security changes, including mainly foreign interference to shake the security of Bahrain and the GCC countries. He added those challenges require stepping up vigilance and readiness while remaining committed to the principles and security faith of the Interior Ministry.
