DPM Receives Courtesy Calls Of M'sian Ambassadors And High Commissioners Designate

PUTRAJAYA, July 10 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin (third from right) on Monday received courtesy calls from three Malaysian ambassador and three high commissioner appointees at his office, here. They were Nik Mustafa Kamal Nik Ahmad, 57, Ambassador to Romania, Jamaluddin Sabeh, 57, Ambassador to Poland and Mohd Zulkephli Mohd Noor, 54, Ambassador to Turkmenistan. The High Commissioners were Rosmidah Zahid, 58 (New Zealand), Dr Hasrul Sani Mujtabar, 55 (Pakistan) and Norlin Othman, 54 (Bangladesh). On June 25, the Malaysian King Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah presented the instruments of appointment to them in a ceremony at Istana Negara (National Palace). Nik Mustafa (right) before being appointed Ambassador to Romania was the Malaysian High Commissioner to Nigeria from 2009 to 2012. He had served as Malaysian Consul General in Davao City in the Philippines from 2007 to 2009 and was the counsellor in the Malaysian embassy in Tehran, Iran from 2002 to 2004. Jamaluddin (left) had served as Malaysian High Commissioner to Bangladesh from 2009 to 2012. He held the post of counsellor at the Malaysian embassy in Bucharest, Romania from 2004 to 2007 and was Malaysian Counsul General at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 2001 to 2004. Mohd Zulkephli (second from right) was the secretary of the Special Task Division on Northern Africa from 2011 to 2012. He was the Malaysian Ambassador to Libya (2009-2011) and was Malaysian Consul General in Los Angeles (2002-2005). Rosmidah (second from left) was appointed the Malaysian Ambassador to Poland from 2007 to 2012. She held the post of Minister Advisor at the Malaysian High Commission in Wellington, New Zealand (2000-2004), First Secretary in the Malaysian High Commission in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam (1993-1997). Dr Hasrul Sani (fourth from left) was the Malaysian Ambassador to Algeria (2009-2012). He had held the post of Counsellor at the Malaysian Embassy in Japan (2001-2005) and Consul at the Malaysian Consulate General in Los Angeles (1986-1989). Meanwhile, Norlin (third from left) was the Malaysian Consul General in Medan, Indonesia from 2010 before being appointed to the present post. She had held the post of Minister Advisor at the Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi, India (2006-2010) and Embassy Counsellor at the Malaysian Permanent Representative Office to the United Nations in New York (1999-2002).
