Drought hits many provinces
KHON KAEN, March 7 (TNA) – Drought has aggravated in many provinces as the country is entering the drying season.
In the northeastern province of Khon Kaen, local residents at a village in the provincial seat have lived without tap water from the village’s water supply system for four days, prompting them to use water from an artesian well, located 500 metres from the village.
Besides lack of water for consumption in 500 households, they also need water for chicken farms. Villagers asked the provincial waterworks authority to install the tap water for them urgently.
In Phitsanulok, the Khek River, the water source of the Wang Thong river basin is drying up. Kaengsopha waterfall in the Thung Salaeng Luang National Park also lacks of water. (TNA)
