Dubai to host fundraising auction of Iranian art during Noruz

TEHRAN,Dec.20(MNA) – Dubai will be hosting a spectacular fundraising auction of Iranian art under the title “Magical Nights” during Noruz in March 2012. Organized by the Magic of Persia, a UK-based charity foundation, the auction will be for three nights running from March 21 to 23, the foundation website has reported. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al Nahayan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research is expected to attend the event. An exhibition of auction highlights will first go on display at the recently opened Salsali Private Museum in Dubai running from March 12 to 22 before the auction over Noruz. Also included will be an exhibition of photos by Shadi Qadirian at the museum on the side section. The three-night event will open with an auction at the Salsali Private Museum on March 21, which will include works by twenty-five young emerging artists. On that night, lots which have not yet been purchased online will be auctioned. In partnership with Christie’s, the auction will be held on March 23 at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. Hossein Zendehrudi, Parviz Tanavoli, Khosrow Hasanzadeh, Ardeshir Mohasses, Sadeq Tirafkan are among the artists donating their artwork. The Kids Company, Omid foundation and the Future Center for Special Needs will be the main beneficiaries of the donations.
