Education Minister approves exams results

Manama, June 3 (BNA): Education Minister, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi approved the results of the first session of the secondary, industrial, and intermediate school exams. The minister congratulated the students, their parents and teachers on the results of the first session of the school exams, praising the efforts of the educators to show these results on time. A total of 6357 students sat for the Grade 12 final exams, including 2,342 boys and 4,015 girls. The results of the first session of grade 12 showed that the overall success rate was 93.5 ,per cent and the figure is expected to increase following the results of the second session. A total of 5,943 boys and girls graduated from secondary schools, in addition to 88 home learners. The number of those who sat for grade 12 examinations in technical schools was 1,640 students in five technical tracks, whereas 12,250 students, including 6173 boys and 6077 girls, sat for the final exams in Grade 9 (End of intermediate education) The results of the first session showed that the overall success rate for this year reached 77.97%, and the rate is expected to increase following the results of the second session. This year's success rate has increased significantly compared with that of the previous year. The number of high achievers in the secondary schools who scored 95% and above for the academic year 2017/2018 reached 628, including 428 girls and 200 boys. Secondary school students may ask for a review of their results on June 3-5 and the middle school students on June 4-6 during official working hours. The second session of the examinations for all levels will begin on June 20, and the results will be announced on June 28, the ministry said.
