Education Minister opens BTI expo

Manama, Apr.27 (BNA): Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi opened an exhibition showcasing technical students’ projects at the Bahrain Training Institute (BTI). The minister toured the expo which displayed seventy projects carried out by students from the secondary schools and the Nasser Centre for Rehabilitation and Vocational Training.  The showcased projects cover different technical specialties, including maintenance of medical equipment, computer technology, multimedia, mechatronics, electronics, electricity, welding, diesel cars, refrigeration and air-conditioning, printing and recycling and commercial studies.  Dr. Al-Nuaimi stressed the ministry’s strides in promoting technical and vocational education, as well as efforts to launch new specialties and develop the curricula in cooperation with the UNESCO. He underlined plans to expand technical and vocational education, to include all secondary schools and implement new specialties that meet the labour market needs.
