Education minister receives Salford University delegation

Manama, Feb. 4 (BNA): Education Minister, and Chairman of the Higher Education Council, Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, received here today a delegation from the University of Salford.
The delegation included mainly Salford University’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Helen Marshall, British University of Bahrain (BUB)’s Vice-President, Prof. Keith Sharp, Director of Finance at University of Salford, Julie Charge, Julie Cross and Emma King.
The minister was informed about the steps taken by the university so far to begin lunching its academic programmes in Bahrain during the next academic year, as well as its operation plan.
Dr. Al-Nuaimi stressed the Higher Education Council’s great interest in attracting and encouraging prestigious foreign universities to open branches in the kingdom to enhance the higher education services in the kingdom.
Members of the Salford University thanked the minister for the Higher Education Council’s cooperation with them, expressing hope that the way will be paved for students to join the university during the next academic year.
They also lauded the procedures, laws and regulations implemented by the Higher Education Council, noting that they encourage universities to open branches in Bahrain.
