Education minister receives UNDP delegation

Manama, June 18 (BN): Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi received here the Acting Resident Representative of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Amin Al-Sharqawi, and UNDP’s Development Programmes Head Ali Salman Saleh. The meeting discussed ways to bolster cooperation between the Ministry of the Education and the UNDP regarding plans to develop the kindergartens sector in the kingdom. Dr. Al-Nuaimi highlighted the Education Ministry’s plans to boost such a vital sector through a new strategy of early education that focuses on building national values and life skills among children through a vision that caters to their needs and instills the values of tolerance and cooperation in them. The minister affirms the ministry’s keenness to take advantage of outstanding international expertise and experience in the field of early education. Acting UNDP Resident Representative expressed the readiness of the UNDP’s Office to cooperate with the Ministry of Education in various development fields, especially in early education, as well as technical and vocational education. He lauded the Education Ministry’s efforts to develop the national education and human rights curricular and programmes, being an advanced step in building citizenship.
