Efficient Farm Machines Developed in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 8 (KCNA) -- Different universities in the DPRK accelerate the development of new types of farming machines. Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering set a goal for developing a small combine harvester before concentrating efforts on it. Scientists deepened a research to develop a new harvester capable of much reducing grain loss in harvesting while saving more fuel than others, as a result of which they found out a new principle boldly pulling themselves out of previous machine structure. They are accelerating the design of the new harvester at the final stage. Nampho University of Agriculture steps up a research for a new fuel-saving mobile rice threshing combine. Kim Je Won Haeju University of Agriculture has finished in a short span of time a design of a machine which can perform wheat and barley sowing, manuring and cultivating. The university is now conducting a test operation of the machine and striving to further complete it in a short time in cooperation with officials, technicians and skilled workers of the Haeju City Farm Machine Station. -0-
