Eid Charity Sends Relief Convoy to Syrian Affected-Areas

Doha,June 17 (QNA) - Sheikh Eid bin Mohammad Al Thani Charitable Association has sent a relief convoy carrying food supplies to a number of the Syrian affected areas costing more than two million riyals. The Eid Charity's Head of Project Management Department, Ali bin Khaled Al Hajri said the association has sent a convoy carrying 10,000 food baskets with each basket containing 14 food items to benefit 50,000 people in Syrian regions such as Hama, Idlib and Baniyas District . He noted in a press statement today that the Eid Charity Association has collaborated with IHH Turkish Humanitarian Relief Foundation in the delivery of aid and with a number of other reliable charitable societies inside Syrian to distribute food assistance by small cars according to the size of the beneficiaries. Al-Hajri added that the dispatch of the convoy comes within the context of the ongoing relief efforts exerted by the association to assist the Syrian people since the beginning of the crisis , indicating that the cost of the projects which had been implemented by the association to assist the Syrian people totaled more than 68 million riyals.
