Electoral supervisory stations inspected

Manama, Sept. 27 (BNA): Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Higher Committee to oversee the integrity of elections, paid an inspection visit today, alongside the judges of the Higher Committee, to the elections supervisory stations in all the governorates to get updated on the work process there and the ongoing preparations for all the electoral stages. President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission Chancellor Nawaf Abdullah Hamza, the 2018 elections Executive Director, presented a detailed account on the ongoing preparations to enable the supervisory stations to assume their role in regulating the electoral process. The Chairman and members of the Higher Committee to oversee the integrity of elections praised presenting the lists of voters electronically for the first time, describing it as one of the development aspects of the elections' organisational process to speed up procedures for the voters. They underlined the role of voters in controlling the voters' lists in all electoral constituencies by ascertaining of the existence of their names on the lists during the set up legal period (September 27 to October 3). They pointed out that this can be done either by visiting the supervisory station in the voters' governorate or via the elections website vote.bh or by calling the Elections Call Centre on 77277277. They also praised the national competencies in organising the elections and the experience they gained in the previous elections. The President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission and Executive Director of 2018 elections pointed out that the lists will be presented to the voters in the supervisory stations in the four governorates from 5 pm to 9 pm. These supervisory stations are as follows: Khawla Secondary Girls School in the Capital Governorate, Al-Hidaya Al Khalifia Secondary Boys School in Muharraq, Hamad Town Primary Girls School in the Northern Governorate and Al Mustaqbal Primary Girls School in the Southern Governorate. The President of the Legislation and Legal Opinion Commission called on voters to ascertain their smart ID cards data is updated to guarantee maximum precision in presenting the data on the voters' lists.
