Electricity Minister receives company executives

Manama, Mar. 8 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza has discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of renewable energy with the Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP). The minister welcomed co-operation with companies and specialized institutions in all fields within the jurisdiction of electricity, water and renewable energy. APICORP Chief Executive Ahmed Ali Ateeqa and its Vice President of Investment Management Asma Mahrous, were present. During the meeting, the company officials reviewed the future plans of the company in the field of renewable energy and expressed a desire to invest and participate in existing projects and establish a cooperative relationship with the Sustainable Energy Unit of the Electricity and Water Authority. The minister stressed the importance of reviewing the work of the companies and the competent institutions in this field, and to view their offers for study according to the available opportunities. He praised the company's major projects in the countries of the region, including in Bahrain, in the fields of fossil and alternative energy. The minister also reviewed the projects of electricity, water and renewable energy being implemented in the country. The visitors thanked the minister and officials for the welcome and the hospitality and for opening the prospects of cooperation with companies working in the field of renewable energy. The meeting was attended by acting Executive Director of the Sustainable Energy Unit, Nurzat Myrsalieva.
