Electricity Minister receives Italian ambassador

Manama, June 7 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Italian Ambassador Domenico Bellato and praised the strong ties between the two countries, reinforced by joint cooperation in various fields. The two sides reviewed projects implemented by the Electricity and Water Authority and the Sustainable Energy Unit, in particular the project to establish a 100 MW solar power plant and investment opportunities available to Italian companies. The ambassador was pleased to see Bahrain’s progress in the electricity, water and renewable energy sectors and expressed the desire of the Italian companies to participate in these projects according to the available opportunities. He thanked the minister and officials for the welcome and the hospitality and stressed his readiness to strengthen existing cooperation to serve all interests and aspirations.
