Electricity Minister receives Turkish ambassador

Manama, May 10 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Turkish Ambassador Kemal Demirgiler and praised strong ties between the two friendly countries.  The minister and the ambassador reviewed the most prominent projects being implemented in the fields of electricity, water and sustainable energy sectors. He presented the ambassador with a briefing on the projects of the Electricity and Water Authority and the Sustainable Energy Unit, including the National Plan for Energy Efficiency and the National Renewable Energy Plan as well as a project to set up a 100-megawatt solar power plant. Investments available for Turkish companies were also discussed. The Turkish ambassador expressed pleasure at the progress made by Bahrain in the electricity, water and renewable energy sectors and expressed the desire of Turkish companies to participate in these projects according to available opportunities. The ambassador thanked the minister and officials for the welcome and the hospitality and stressed readiness to strengthen existing cooperation to serve all interests and aspirations.
