Embassy Introduces Indonesian Culinary Delicaties In Rome

London, Oct 3 (Antara) - The Indonesian Embassy to Italy in Rome unveiled 30 culinary specialties in the Indonesian Culinary Week event held on September 27-October 4 at the Doney Restaurant, Westin Excelsior Hotel, Rome, Italy. In the Indonesian Culinary Week, typical Indonesian cuisine is served exclusively by renowned Executive Chef from Indonesia Vindex Tenker and assisted by two executive chefs, Mochamad Agung Susanto and Sudarius Tjahja, the Embassy`s spokesperson, Nindarsari Utomo, informed Antara in London on Saturday. Indonesian Ambassador to Italy August Parengkuan remarked while opening the Indonesian Culinary Week that currently, there is no restaurant that serves Indonesian food in the city of Rome. August hoped that holding the Indonesian Culinary Week can satisfy the curiosity of the Romans to enjoy typical Indonesian dishes, and in the future, might initiate cooperation in opening an Indonesian restaurant in Rome. Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Mari Elka Pangestu also attended the culinary event on the sidelines of her visit to three Italian cities of Rome, Florence, and Venice. Mari expressed appreciation for the cooperation that has existed between her ministry, the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, and the Westin Hotel in Rome, which ensured that the Indonesian Culinary Week could be held smoothly. Besides Mari, Indonesian entrepreneur Erick Thohir, who is also the majority shareholder in a major Italian Football Club, Internazionale Milan, also attended the event. On the occasion, Erick delivered a speech to promote Indonesian cuisine. The Culinary Week received a warm response from the guests and journalists from various Italian media organizations. The opening event of the Indonesian Culinary Week was covered by several Italian mass media organizations that are helping to promote Indonesian cuisine among the people in Italy.
